Complaints and Appeals Policy
The journal is committed to maintaining fairness, transparency and integrity in all editorial and publication processes. The journal welcomes legitimate complaints and appeals from authors, reviewers, readers and other stakeholders. All complaints and appeals will be handled objectively, confidentially and in accordance with the guidelines of the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE).
Complaints
Complaints may relate to editorial decisions, peer-review procedures, publication delays, ethical concerns, inappropriate conduct, or other matters affecting the integrity of the journal.
Complaints must be submitted in writing to the editorial office, providing a clear description of the issue and any relevant supporting evidence.
The editorial office will acknowledge receipt of the complaint and conduct an initial assessment. Where necessary, the complaint will be referred to the Editor-in-Chief or an independent editorial board member for further investigation.
The journal will ensure that individuals directly involved in a complaint do not participate in decisions concerning that complaint.
Appeals Against Editorial Decisions
Authors have the right to appeal editorial decisions if they believe that a decision was based on a factual error, procedural irregularity, or misunderstanding of the manuscript.
Appeals must be supported by clear and reasonable arguments. Mere disagreement with reviewers' opinions does not constitute sufficient grounds for an appeal.
The Editor-in-Chief will review the appeal and may consult additional reviewers or editorial board members where appropriate. The outcome of the appeal will be communicated to the author in writing.
The journal's final decision following the appeal process will normally be considered conclusive.
Confidentiality and Fair Treatment
All complaints and appeals will be treated confidentially, as far as reasonably possible. The journal will protect complainants from unfair treatment and will ensure that all parties involved have an opportunity to provide relevant information.
The journal aims to resolve complaints and appeals within a reasonable period. Complex cases requiring external investigation may take longer.
Where appropriate, the journal will follow COPE guidance and may refer matters to relevant institutions or authorities.
